Dr Valeria Souque Proudly graduated from University Autonomous of Guadalajara in 1997, fully bilingual soon after she graduated decided that she wanted to get a specialty so she did.
And 2002 she got her specialty as a orthodontic dentist from University Autonomous of Guadalajara this specialty also known as Orthodontic braces or simply braces are a device used in orthodontics to align teeth and their position with regard to a person's bite.
They are often used to correct malocclusions such as underbites, overbites, cross bite and open bites, or crooked teeth and various other flaws of teeth and jaws, whether cosmetic or structural.
Braces are often used in conjunction with other orthodontic appliances to widen the palate or jaws or otherwise shape the teeth and jaws. While they are mainly used on children and teenagers, adults can also use them.
Along the treatment Dr Valeria Souque will work with the most efficient team on dentistry with Dr Benjamin Arechiga (oral surgeon) which if it is the case will make the extractions of wisdom teeth or any other that in its case will need to be removed to achieve the overall treatment. Also cleaning and dental restoration appointments could be schedule with one our Doctors;Dr Claudia Ibarra,Dr Alberto Florian or Dr Alan Martinez.

A tooth will usually move about a millimeter per month during orthodontic movement, but there is high individual variability. Orthodontic mechanics can vary in efficiency, which partly explains the wide range of response to orthodontic treatment

Traditional braces are stainless steel, sometimes in combination with titanium and are the most widely used.
We also have available “Clear” braces as a cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces by blending in more with the natural color of the teeth. Typically, these brackets are made of ceramic or plastic materials and function in a similar manner to traditional metal brackets.
Clear elastic ties and white metal ties are available to be used with these clear braces to help keep the appliances less conspicuous. Clear braces have a higher component of friction and tend to be more brittle than metal braces. This can make removing the appliances at the end of treatment more difficult and time consuming.

Post Treatment
In order to avoid the teeth moving back to their original position Dr Valeria Souque will make and delivery the retainers so they can be worn once the treatment is complete.
Every retainer is done on patient’s needs.
If a patient does not wear the retainer as recommended, the teeth will move towards their original position.
