Dental Fillings

What causes Cavities? Cavities are caused by Bacteria that live on the plaque that remains on your teeth when you don't brush properly. The factors that increase your risk of getting cavities are; the amount of sugar you consume, the quantity of bacteria that you have in your mouth, and your oral hygiene.

What is it? Dental fillings are usually made from Composite (traditionally, they used to be made of Amalgam) they can be made to look exactly like your natural teeth. Their purpose is to cover the space where a cavity was and save your teeth from further damage.

What are bondings? Resin restorations that cover different areas with esthetic appearance and sometimes avoiding veneers and even crowns.

Dental Onlay & Inlay

Dental Inlays and Onlays are used when a filling just isn't enough but it's still not so much that you need to crown the tooth.

What is it? it's a Restoration technique that is used when the tooth is partially destroyed, it only covers a portion of the tooth (when a filling is not enough but a crown would be too much).

What is it made out of? Resin or Porcelain ,made in a laboratory.
How much does it cost? around 350.

How long does it take? It takes 2 visits.
Is it done in house? yes (save for the teeth).

Dental Crowns

What is it?

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped structure that will restore the lost tooth, protecting it from fractures and restoring its chewing and esthetic function. Crowns can be made of different materials depending on the quality with which we want to solve the case.

How long does it take?

These can be placed the same day, as long as your appointment is first thing in the morning and there will be an extra charge of $150 USD per each, on behalf of the lab, for rush work. Otherwise, we will have them ready in 3 days with no extra charge. To place a crown it is necessary to remove the decay and restore the tooth that will receive it, this will be a separate procedure.

Before taking the measurement for the crown, the tooth will be worn down to make room for the crown to fit. Usually, the dentist for years has been using impression materials to take the measurement and send the crown to the laboratory, nowadays we no longer use those materials that sometimes generate nausea for the patient, we have acquired a scanning technology equipment that practically digitally photographs the tooth, and it is sent to the laboratory immediately.

On the second appointment, the crown or crowns will be ready to be cemented.

This way of doing it gives us 100% certainty that it will look great, avoiding the patient to give more turns.

Guarantee: With this type of digitalized systems and materials you will hardly have problems with fractures or misalignments, however, the warranty will be valid as long as you go to your check-ups every 6 months and follow the instructions for use that we have given you. The warranty will not cover cases of pain after the crown is placed, since sometimes the nerve response to wear is possible. Likewise, if the tooth itself is weak and fractures when forced during chewing.

In cases of teeth that have not received nerve treatment, to avoid sensitivity, a temporary crown will be placed while the definitive one is ready.
