What is Endodontics? It is the specialty of Dentistry that allows us to preserve your teeth by removing the nerve tissue that was damaged by deep cavities, major fractures, blows, etc. Causing pain or infection in the tooth.
How to know if you need to see an Endodontist?

If you have pain in grade 6 from 1 to 10
-
If you are sensitive to cold or heat for more than 1 minute.

If you feel pain when chewing, causing discomfort

If you have a tooth with a moderately important fracture.

If you have an infection that has caused you, a small ball on the gum.

If you have inflammation (abscess)
Step 1 : General Evaluation.
You have recognized the symptoms of Dental Nerve damage, what do you do now?
Even if you check off all the boxes for an Endodontic situation, it may still not be the case. That is why you will have to see a General dentist for an evaluation in order to discard the possibility that the tooth is not so damaged that a Root canal is necessary.
Step 2 : Endodontic Evaluation.

Once the primary dentist has referred you to a Specialist consultation, an evaluation with the Endodontist will be done in order to see the severity of the situation. Once this has been determined, the specialist will likely start the root canal the same day.

Usually when you go to the dentist, and he suspects that you need a root canal, you are referred to another office with an endodontic specialist to be diagnosed and have a root canal done if that is the case.
With us at this clinic you will not be referred elsewhere, right here the endodontic specialist will immediately evaluate your case and follow up on the procedure, in agreement with your main dentist; both in the same place.
Step 3 : Root Canal Treatment.
Are you considering a Root Canal Treatment?
It is important to note that if you have ANY medical issue or take ANY medication, it is important that you let us know before we start ANY procedure. If you have Uncontrolled Diabetes, High blood pressure, low blood pressure, heart issues, osteoporosis, are taking medications such as blood thinners or bisphosphonates for example. All these instances and more require a letter from your Doctor indicating that you are stable and that a dental procedure can be done, and any indications that your doctor may give you for your medications before and following the treatment.
If you have any of the above stated ailments or medications, it is possible that the Specialist will ask for a medical clearance letter in order to proceed with the treatment.

What is a root canal treatment? A root canal treatment is fairly simple to explain. The first step is to remove the pulp (along with the nerves found in the root). Then we disinfect the root canal and finally the canal is filled with a special material and a temporary restoration is placed. This treatment is always recommended, as it is always best to keep your natural teeth in your mouth if at all possible.
It is important to mention that currently this treatment in this clinic is performed under the highest standards, both technology and knowledge at the level of specialist.
To perform this treatment we use digital radiographs with minimal radiation, rotary instruments, apex locator sensor and the most current techniques of obturation, aided by the microscope for best results. All this allows us to locate extra canals, good levels of obturation and comfort for the patient.
We ensure that the patient has no pain during the procedure.
Price: The price of a Root Canal treatment depends on many factors. It can usually cost between $200 to $300 (USD). With an extra charge of $50 USD in cases where extra canals are treated. The cost will never be too much, considering the importance of keeping your natural teeth.
Artificial teeth will never feel or function the same as natural teeth.
Also, there will be an extra charge for teeth with excessive infection that require additional appointments for infection control.

How long does it take? It can take approximately an hour and a half. Or it can be two appointments of 40 minutes each, depending on what the specialists recommend.

Step 4 : Post and core or Core Build-up
After a root canal treatment, it's necessary to build up the tooth again, as it is left hollow after the treatment. If you don't restore the tooth, there is a possibility that it will fracture completely or become infected again, and it will either need to be retreated or extracted.
After the placement of a dental post and/or core build-up, your primary dentist will be able to scan your tooth and follow up the reconstruction with a crown.
Post and Core Build-up
What is it? A Post is a small rod fabricated from Composite and Fiberglass that is specially selected for every root canal. It is cemented inside the tooth with a dual resin cement and the tooth is then reconstructed with composite to fill in the top of the tooth so that a Crown can then be placed. Due to these reconstructive procedures, the tooth will have enough structure so that the crown can be properly cemented in place.
Price: The price of a Post is $200-$220 USD
Anesthetic: possibly depends on the case.
What is it made out of? Fiberglass and Composite
How long does it take? It can take around a an hour or less.
Is it done in house? Yes.
Monoblock (Core Build-up)
What is it? The Monoblock rebuilds or returns the entire destroyed part to the tooth, the Endodontist carries it out with a resin by adhesion and thus the necessary wear will be made to provide retention and space for the placement of the crown.
Price: The price of the Monoblock is between $120-$180 USD

What is it made out of? Resin
How long does it take? 30 minutes
Is it done in house? Yes.

Core Build-up
What is it? A Core Build up (Mono-block) is a block of composite that allows us to fill out a tooth when the cavity made is not extensive and when a post is not needed. Once the tooth is reconstructed and ready, it can then be prepared for a crown or another form or restoration.

How long does it take? A Core build-up procedure takes around a half an hour.

Temporary Prosthetic
Your primary dentist will be in charge of restoring your tooth after an Endodontic Procedure.

If the patient is not in a position to receive a permanent crown immediately, we recommend that he/she remain with a temporary acrylic crown to protect the tooth.
These come at a cost of $250 USD.
