Are you considering a dental surgery?
It is important to note that if you have ANY medical issue or take ANY medication it is important that you let us know before we start ANY procedure. If you have Uncontrolled Diabetes, High blood pressure, low blood pressure, heart issues, osteoporosis, are taking medications such as blood thinners or bisphosphonates for example. All these instances and more require a letter from your Doctor indicating that you are stable and that a dental procedure can be done and any indications that your doctor may give you for your medications before and following the treatment.
If you have any of the above stated ailments or medications, it is possible that the Surgeon will ask for a medical clearance letter in order to proceed with the treatment.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extraction is a procedure in which a tooth is removed from its socket, there are different variations in the techniques, but it is always done in the most conservative way. There are many reasons why a tooth may be removed.
For example, if a tooth is badly decayed, if it has excessive mobility, if it has an extensive infection.
Tooth extraction is not as scary as you might think. It is not a painful process, as local anesthesia is used.

What to do in cases of severe anxiety? Intravenous sedation is a very safe option, it will be necessary to have an evaluation before the procedure with our anesthesiologist, you will be explained what it consists of, the indications will be given and doubts will be solved. An informed consent will be given. It is very important that you follow the indications, one of them is to remain fasting for 8 hours before the sedation.

You may be required to take a panoramic x-ray $40 USD and have a prior consultation with the surgeon to evaluate the teeth for extraction, risks, advantages and disadvantages. It is worth mentioning that in most cases a consultation is not paid for when the patient has decided to have surgery, otherwise the consultation will cost $80 USD. If it is a surgery that must be performed in the hospital, you will pay for the consultation when it is evaluated.
Surgical Wisdom Tooth Removal
How much does it cost? The price depends mainly on the tooth to be extracted, its position, how much bone covers it and how damaged it is. The surgeon will give you the price once he reviews your x-ray and sees the complication of the case, if it would be a regular or surgical extraction, it should cost a minimum of $200 USD.

Each case is different and if you ever have a tooth removed you should not think that it will cost the same, the position, size and shape of the tooth, as well as the bone that can cover it, make the difficulty, and sometimes it can be surgical or non-surgical.

It is very important to take care of yourself as instructed after getting a tooth extracted. The last thing you want is to cause further bleeding or infection that will lead to a more expensive visit.
Some swelling after a tooth extraction is normal.
Soft foods are recommended.
